About us

TEECHE is working to improve childcare in Europe. The project has the following aims:

The project is initiated by Early Years Childcare (UK), supported by partners across Europe and funded through the European Commission's Leonardo Fund.

The objective of the TEECHE project is to improve the skills and competencies of people in initial vocational training at all levels by providing high-quality work-linked training and education.

TEECHE promotes employability by giving trainees options to specialise and a greater range of career options. The knowledge and skills gained through TEECHE will help trainees to secure and retain jobs.

TEECHE aims to raise the standard and quality of training provision, improve its relevance and responsiveness to individual and employer needs and increase the numbers of young people with qualifications. The training will enable lifelong learning as individuals add to their areas of expertise, and will enable transferability across borders.

The primary target audience for the project are providers of training for childcare and education. The secondary target audience are those pursuing, or interested in pursuing, a career in childcare and education. Particular emphasis is placed upon women returners, older and younger workers, men and disabled people.

Target organisations to deliver TEECHE include: training organisations, educational institutions, public and private sector employers of childcarers, trade and professional associations, trade unions and local authorities. We aim to target those working in education, training, health and social care across the European Union.
