Piloting a new European Childcare Qualification

Camdem EYDCP (Early Years Development and Childcare Partnership) is part of a project led by Early Years Childcare which aims to develop an European childcare qualification. In collaboration with other partners from the UK, Austria and the Netherlands, developments include a pan-European qualification, improving the quality and access to vocational training and promoting lifelong learning.

The framework for training for Early Years Education and Childcare in Europe (TEECHE) includes three levels: Foundation, Intermediate and Advanced. Within each level students will be studying three core elements: child development, professional development and the learning environment.

Currently the Child Developemtn module is being developed and will include multiple choice questions, scenarios, tasks and supporting material.

Camdem EYDCP's role in TEECHE is to support the development of this qualification by providing practitioner input into the need for and development of the qualification, as well as offering a range of pilot settings.

Childcare settings are invited to be involved in the pilot. For more information contact Satwat Rehman on 020 7974 8185.
