Training for Early Years Education and Childcare in Europe
News
Early Years Childcare Plc awarded EU funding for innovative training project.
Hove-based Early Years Childcare Plc has secured £280,000 worth of funding from the EU’s Leonardo programme.
This funding will help develop an innovative training project, TEECHE (Training for Early Years Education and Childcare in Europe). TEECHE will develop pan-European training in childcare and education and become the basis of a new European qualification.
With partners from Austria, Holland and the UK, Early Years Childcare will develop this high quality vocational training for European professionals working with children aged 0-7 years old.
The TEECHE project will aim to improve the status and appeal of the childcare profession. By developing close links with formal education, it will also help to ensure a greater continuity of care between pre-school and formal education. This high quality training programme will give professionals the opportunity to develop specialist skills and create new training methods and materials at a European level.
Early Years Childcare was one of 22 winning proposals, out of 102 UK project ideas. The TEECHE project will lead to a further development of the Early Years Childcare Training Centre, which already offers NVQ assessment in Childcare and Education as well as in house training for all staff.
